JACOB GRIM

Born and raised in South Texas Jacob Grim has had a lifelong love of movies. In 2007 he entered a local film competition directing a short film called “Return to Sender.” Jacob received an award for the short film and from that moment he was bit with the filmmaking bug making many more short films thereafter. Jacob teamed up for the first time with Sal Hernandez in 2011, working together on a short film for a 72 hour film competition that led to accolades and an award for the film. Jacob later directed a re-boot of a short film Sal Hernandez had conceptualized and written. This collaboration would lead to the formation of STX Media in 2013.

Jacob Grim has a degree in Digital Media and has extensive experience in film and graphic design. As co-founder of STX Media, Jacob wears many hats, but primarily he is the Director for all productions as well as the Director of Photography and heads the Graphic Art Department.

SAL HERNANDEZ

Executive Producer, Public Relations, Actor

Sal Hernandez is an international award winning actor and screenplay writer, he is a lifelong South Texan and very proud of it. Growing up in a small town and not much to do, Sal was glued to the television set. “I remember being very young and completely fascinated with how movies were made, how did they do this or how did they do that?…I was obsessed, but I know now that was getting me ready for something else.” At the age of 9, Sal had an extensive collection of VHS tapes that he would rent to friends and relatives for 0.25 cents each-already proving himself to be business savvy. In 2003 he owned and operated his first business at the age of 24, selling it 2 years later to pursue a career in Human Resources.

In 2009, Sal developed, wrote and acted in his short film “The Roommate.” Shortly after that he auditioned and was cast in an independent film called “All She Can,” a film that would be an official selection of The Sundance Film Festival and would later be distributed on DVD and shown on HBO, Cinemax and Netflix. After a few collaborations (from 2010-2013) and many film awards with Jacob Grim, the two would go on to create STX Media. Not only is Sal the Executive Producer of the company, he is also the Business & Production Manager as well as the Director of Communications & PR.
